A .450 1 1/2 CARBINE SNIDER MK III SPORTING RIFLE SIGNED HUGH MORRISON KING WILLIAMS TOWN, CIRCA 1875, with 25 3/4in octagonal barrel, dovetailed front-sight, two hinged and one fixed leaf rear-sight, hinged Mk III action with borderline engraving and stamped "SNIDER'S PATENT" (latch, bolt and spring missing) the lock plain except for some border engraving, walnut half-stocked with iron mounts, chequered wrist and forend. All metal parts polished bright, the barrel with pitted for its length, nose cap missing.
